Course Description: In Grade 11 English at Sanrise, students deepen their reading, writing, and critical thinking skills through the study of literary, informational, and media texts. The course focuses on developing students’ ability to analyze complex ideas, construct thoughtful arguments, and communicate effectively in preparation for senior-level English and post-secondary study.
The course also integrates culturally relevant texts and perspectives that connect learning to broader social and historical themes, creating a more meaningful and engaging learning experience.

Students strengthen their ability to communicate complex ideas through structured analytical writing, discussion, and interpretation.

Through analysis of various media and literature, students will learn to think critically and form their own opinions, preparing them for complex problem-solving and decision-making in the future.
By participating in discussions, presentations, and creative writing exercises, students will gain the confidence to express their thoughts and ideas clearly and effectively.
Students learn through a structured online environment where lessons, assignments, and course materials are organized through Moodle. Instruction is clear and consistent, with ongoing academic direction to help students stay engaged and progress confidently through the course.
