High school credits built for restorationbelongingpossibility
Sanrise was created to give students a learning environment where they feel challenged, encouraged, and reflected in their education.
From the very beginning, the goal has been to create a learning experience that shifts students from a state of regression to one of active progression toward their purpose.
As an Ontario Certified Teacher and doctoral researcher in education, I have worked closely with students who were fully capable of success, but began to disengage because their learning environments did not fully believe in their brilliance.
In both classroom teaching and research, I have seen how high school courses—especially core subjects like mathematics—can sometimes become barriers that affect how students dream about their future. For some students, missing certain academic courses made their dream career out of reach.
As a researcher, I study the history of segregated secondary schools in Ontario and how it connects to the ongoing presence of oppressive learning environments where students are not fully seen, motivated, and loved.
Throughout my career, one thing has remained clear: academic ability alone is not enough if the learning environment is not right.
Sanrise was created to be a place of renewal—one where students and parents alike can feel a sense of pride as they watch their child rise once again to their full potential.

Sanrise is not a tutoring program.
We offer high school credit courses built with Africentric principles where students are reflected in their learning experience from start to finish.
Students are not only learning academic content. They are learning in an environment designed to strengthen confidence, self-agency, and long-term engagement with education.
Students learn through either live or self-paced course formats, depending on their learning preference.
Each course follows Ontario curriculum expectations and is supported by caring educators.
We believe that academic growth comes from helping students build understanding, consistency, and confidence in their learning abilities as they work toward completing their high school career.
Join Sanrise and begin earning high school credits in a supportive, Africentric environment.
